PTTV is a local dominant TV309 affiliate based out of Peoria Illinois and serves the counties of Peoria & Tazwell. Our goal is to be the #1 station for news, information and entertainment programming. PPTV has the opportunity to start and grow an experienced team in the local market. We strive to keep our viewers safe and informed while guiding them through the ever-evolving digital world. We are also a station that gives video journalists time to pursue in-depth pieces, not just day-turns.Job Summary:
PPTV is looking for a self-starter who like to be in control of their own story. Candidate must have experience in shooting good video, writing their own scripts, finding unique ways to tell the story (not just in package form), and engaging with viewers/followers on social media.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Candidate would also be part of a new generation of video journalists expected to also know how to produce entire newscasts when needed, giving reporters a bigger picture of how their stories play into an entire day of coverage. Reporters are expected to build their interaction with followers online throughout the day with a digital-first mentality. Candidate should not only handle, but expect curve-balls in story assignments and be ready to go live at any point.

PTTV is looking for candidates to mold into award winning journalist although previous experience in a newsroom as a reporter, photographer, and/or video journalist is preferred, we are a ready to train and grow the right candidate. Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable.
Must be able to lift and/or carry and manage news photography and lighting equipment. You are also frequently exposed to outside conditions.
